Scope of Service

The Physiotherapy Department in a Long-Term-Care Setting assists the resident and family during the difficult phase of recovery and/or palliative care from an illness or injury through a multi-disciplinary approach and management with the use of physical modalities and exercises.


An expert team of Physician, Physical Therapist, Pharmacist, Dietician, Social workers, and Nurses are tasked to implement programs for the residents’ palliative treatment.

Some of these programs include exercises and maintenance program, which aids residents with variety of medical conditions towards more efficient rehabilitation and/or palliative care thus making them more functional in their activities of daily living and prevent secondary complications of immobilization due to existing co-morbidities.

Through a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary approach, they collaborate to restore highest possible function to residents of any age with problems ranging from simple bedridden resident because of old-age, arthritis and dementia to the rehabilitative care of more complex cases such as post-motor vehicular accidents, stroke, brain and spinal cord injury residents.

  3. Duty Hours

The Physiotherapy Department has made two shifts to cover and extend the duty hours to ensure resident comfort and easy access:

First Shift                                                   8:00 AM          -           5:00PM

Second Shift                                              10:00 AM        -           7:00PM
